How to Record a Video Resume
To successfully prepare a video resume, follow these steps. Remember that your video will be decisive for employers, as it is the basis on which they decide whether to offer you a job. The video should be no longer than 1.5 minutes, be in English and uploaded to your profile. What should you include in the video? Use these questions as a guideline to make your video interesting and informative: 1. Tell me about yourself: * Where do you go to school? * What is your major and what year of study are you in? * When do you plan to graduate? What are your career goals? 2. What do you do in your spare time? * Share your hobbies or pastimes. * Do you have any siblings? 3. Your experience: * Have you been abroad? Maybe you have already participated in other exchange programs? * Do you have any work experience? Where did you work and what tasks did you perform? 4. Why Work & Travel USA? * Why are you attracted to participating in the program? * What do you want to see and learn about in the US? How do you record a video? 1. Location and background: Choose a quiet, well-lit location with no distracting noises. Try to avoid backgrounds where there may be noisy people or renovations. 2. Clothing: Dress neatly and simply. A formal suit is not required, but it is better if the clothing is in neutral colors. 3. Speech: Speak in a clear and measured manner. Do not read the text from a piece of paper, rather speak freely, this will show your confidence and personality. 4. Creativity: Don't be afraid to show your personality. Try to make the video unique to interest the employer. Most importantly: end the video by thanking them for their attention and wishing them a good day. If you have any questions about recording or uploading videos, please contact your coordinator. Good luck!
