New Hampshire is known not only for its mountainous landscape but also for its "lake-abundance" (forgive me, I love inventing neologisms).
The state's largest lake is Winnipesaukee. It measures about 34 km in length and 1.6-15 km in width, with a maximum depth reaching up to 64 m in some places. There are 253 small islands on the lake.
Winnipesaukee is one of the most popular vacation spots for residents of Boston and New York. It is a known fact that Native Americans, for the beauty of these places, gave the lake names such as "The Smile of the Great Spirit" and "beautiful water in a high place." Therefore, we could not miss the opportunity to visit such a wonderful place. We simply had to do it, especially when we learned that the President of France himself, Nicolas Sarkozy, having heard about the beauty of these parts, vacationed at the lake in 2007. And, I must say, we didn't go wrong with our choice of vacation spot either and had a wonderful time!:)
