To ensure you do not get a US visa and do not go on the Work and Travel program, you just need to do at least one of the 10 things listed below:

  1. Be late or oversleep your interview. The easiest and surest way to get your visa denied.
  2. Forget important documents, such as your passport, DS-2019 form, etc. — a sure way to "fail" the interview.
  3. Act strangely, wear a weird outfit, be incoherent, and you are 100% guaranteed not to get a visa!
  4. A fake Job Offer is a unique opportunity to not get a visa.
  5. Not knowing what you will be doing in America or what your job will be—if you don't know the information stated in your Job Offer, rest assured, you will not get a visa.
  6. Don't ask for clarification on questions you don't understand; just say whatever comes to mind, for example: "My name is Dmitry, I'm going to Pennsylvania," for any question you don't understand—a direct path to getting your visa denied.
  7. Answer as verbosely as possible to all questions the consul asks you; for example, if asked what your mother does for a living, start telling the story of your entire family, etc.—this is a good chance not to get a visa.
  8. Stop worrying completely, load up on valerian, and slow down all your brain activity so the consul denies your visa!
  9. Tell the consul you are going to America to make a ton of money and not travel anywhere, and that your only goal for staying in America is to earn money—then you can forget about your trip to the USA.
  10. Want to stay in the USA or enroll in a US college? A sure way to spend next summer at home.
