Morning. Sun in the window and on the monitor screen. A real early Philadelphia morning. I don't remember being as happy about anything on this trip as I am about this morning.
Here is how things went.
5 p.m. We are stuck at the airport, if you can call this room an airport, in New Haven. Our flight is at 5 a.m. A guy comes up to us and says that we aren't allowed to hang out there at night, and all he can offer is to send us to Philadelphia earlier, where the airport is bigger. What could we do, we agreed. The adventures began.
Then there was an incredible headache with shampoos, shower gels, and other "liquids". "Because of some terrorists, all normal people have to suffer now."
7.30 p.m. Boarded the plane. The number of seats is fewer than on a tour bus, about 8 passengers. The air conditioning is working so hard that it feels like I'll freeze to death five hundred times before reaching Philadelphia.
9.30 p.m. Tired, exhausted, frozen, hungry, we are at the airport. Our flight is at 7.40 a.m. We ate. Looked around. Zoned out. Found an outlet. Started watching a movie. Gave up on the movie because we were just incredibly exhausted. And...
11.30 p.m. Nothing is happening! Sleeping sitting on these seats is impossible. Nothing to do. It's night at the airport, everyone is sleeping, everything is closed.
- Hey guys, you stuck here up to the morning?
- mmm.... yes...
Some worker suggests we tip the seats over, push them together, and sleep on them. Right on the airport floor! And I even thought that sleeping sitting up in an airport was indecent)))
- Is it ok to do it this way?
- Oh, yes! you could also ask a pillow!
))
Seats are tipped and pushed together. Here is an improvised bed) Some guy walks by who is also spending the night. Doesn't care. Walking barefoot even) He admires our "bed".
Attempts to fall asleep are accompanied by wild laughter. Floor and carpet cleaners drive by with their machines that buzz and screech. The AC is blasting...
...Morning, how good it is that you have arrived)
- To hell with such adventures!
- What are you talking about?! Tomorrow you'll remember this and laugh) And in a couple of months...
- I'll be proud of myself)
