We arrived in Ashland, Virginia, at the Super 8 Motel. It's hot. We got a room by the pool for the night, paying $49 for the three of us. It's 10 a.m. We should probably go to sleep since we haven't slept much these past few days and were up all night, even though the bus was comfortable. But... we saw that our room has Wi-Fi ))))) all sleepiness vanished) Gosha went to sleep, and after a swim, we started using it. In the evening, we went to look for work and take a walk around Ashland.
Well, what can I say? It's a village. Like in horror movies. Helloooo, people, where are you???? No one on the streets. Thank goodness the sun was shining and not rain and fog =) Otherwise, it would have been like the movie '1001 Maniacs' – you know, the 'wrong turn' kind of village. We ate some corn and went looking for Russians and work. Not very successful. We bought food for the evening at Walmart; it's very cheap compared to New York. Cool. We bought water, milk, sliced cheese, and cereal. It all came out to $8. The milk and cheese taste so-so, but when there's nothing to eat, it'll do. The cereal is fine. Dry – it's actually great. We bought 4 liters of water for 70 cents, crazy! In NY, we were buying 0.5 liters for $1. Yeah, everything in NY is very expensive; even the food is different compared to the villages. Surprising. After eating, Anya and Gosha passed out. I sat on the internet for a bit longer and then passed out too. Tomorrow we'll need to decide what to do next and where to go... Staying here is not an option...
