A few words about the team, the boat, the work, the idleness, the rest...
Our team is a small model of all of America.
The captain is American, the "deputy captain" is Jewish, the mechanic is Mexican, the sailor is American, the chief stewardess is English, the 1st stewardess is from Russia, the 2nd stewardess is from Belarus, the cook and 2 builders are from Ukraine.=)
My workday:
- I get up at 7:40
- I eat cereal with those cursed strawberry pieces (after 14 days starting with such breakfasts, dried strawberries just destroy your taste buds)
- I drag myself to work, where for the first 2 weeks I had to trail after a guy and carry out all his "errands". Bring this, bring that, need to glue here, need to scratch here, need to polish here!!!! =) This man kept calling me Roma, and Roma - Slava for 2-3 weeks of working with him, which shows that he absolutely doesn't care who follows him and who helps him. It's important that the piece of meat following him carries out orders and listens to his life, and the rest - not at all.
- From 12:00 to 13:00, the long-awaited lunch. The whole workday was divided into work until 12 (the hardest 4 hours) and after 13 (the easier it is to work, the closer to the end of the workday)
- A quick shower and a long dinner, and after that a very long tea (only Russians on the ship drank tea, and the others just didn't understand how one could consume it! Cola is much healthier, after all)=)
- Internet, movies, conversations over the owner's alcohol (once in an evening the four of us drank a bottle of Blue Label... only after returning to Russia did I find out that it costs 11,000 rubles! I don't think this drink would have gone down my throat if I had known the price then. =)))
- Sleep
When a person devotes most of the day to work, to thoughts about work, then the human element is lost... You cannot be a person while working like cattle. Moreover, a monotonous daily routine does its job. I was turning into a machine that waits for lunch and for sleep.
Later came the days when there was no work at all and one had to pretend to be very busy. Sit, poke at something, just so that someone passing by wouldn't even doubt your busyness.
Ah! Enough about work! That's not the main thing in my story. It's not even necessary for the reader. Let me fast-forward to the moment when the yacht sailed to the Bahamas. =)
