Work and Travel USA: a summer in America with IEC 🇺🇸
Which students have considered Work and Travel USA as a way to spend the summer abroad, gain work experience, and practice English in a real-world environment?
The IEC program is suitable for undergraduate, master's, and PhD students under 28. Participants spend 3–5 months in the USA during their summer break: they work officially on a J-1 Visa, and can then travel around the country.
What you need to know:
- basic conversational English is enough to get started
- jobs usually do not require special training: shops, restaurants, hotels, amusement parks
- you can look for a job on your own or choose a placement option
- IEC helps with visa documents
- medical insurance and a hotline in the USA are provided
- participants have access to free online English and Applied AI courses
If you have already participated in Work and Travel USA, share what turned out to be the most useful: the work, the language, independence, travel, or new acquaintances?
