We, one way or another and to some extent, think about the future. About the future in the global sense of the word. What awaits us? Our relatives? All of humanity?
- The morning of an ordinary working day for an ordinary office employee. No need to get out of bed to have breakfast — an artificial intelligence will prepare breakfast for you. It may not yet be as smart as a human, but it is capable of performing certain tasks. They say by 2030 they will become even smarter. So, our protagonist has had breakfast. The breakfast is as filling as possible and minimally caloric; despite that, it is rich in vitamins. Our protagonist does not dwell on this much. It is made entirely from artificially grown products, yet they do no harm.
He lives in a two-story house that is guarded by no ordinary security system. It is almost perfected. Thanks to such a security system, over the past five years the number of home burglaries and murders has sharply decreased.
Time to go to work. The air is clean. It has become much better. Hybrid cars are now everywhere and even some that are not quite hybrids. Unique vehicles. What do they even run on? As if on water and oxygen. A new type of fuel was discovered about seven years ago. For it, a particular kind of vehicle was indeed necessary, but the scientists managed. Comfortable, beautiful, convenient, suitable both for city life and beyond.
Back to our employee. He likes the world around him. Only a feeling of loneliness sometimes befalls our protagonist. Now live communication is often replaced by the internet, which apparently will remain eternal. Although, on the other hand, if it were not for it, he would not have met his other half back then — no reason to complain. He heads to work. Fewer traffic jams, more roads. Almost untouched living nature, yet the city has come to resemble stone jungles more, albeit very beautiful jungles. Millions of shop lights. They beckon; progress does not stand still — hurry to earn money and buy whatever you see.
The activities of the CMO continue to this day. When our protagonist was still a student, he went to Japan on a program—new horizons. Thanks to that trip he chose what he wanted to do after graduating from university.
Overall, life has settled. In another five years it might well be simply an earthly paradise. The main thing is to manage to get used to it. Not to lose oneself.
