A couple of days ago I found an email from a sponsor inviting me to go to a baseball game. The ticket cost only $12, and besides baseball there was free food and a bunch of new people to meet) So I decided to go to NYC and have some fun)
That's why yesterday I went to the sponsor's baseball game) Well, the baseball itself doesn't interest me that much; I mostly wanted to meet new people, students like me, and finally get out to New York. Living on Long Island, I hadn't gone anywhere all summer — either I didn't have the money, or the desire, or the time.
I had an absolutely fabulous time) I arrived in the city, visited Greg, went to meet the other travelers) It was so wild, by the way, to see skyscrapers — for almost two months I'd been seeing nothing but Long Island houses)) I met some Russian guys who are also from the New York area (apparently they didn't send invitations to people who live far away), there were a lot of people from Long Island. Besides Russians there were many guys from Europe. We came by boat and admired the views of New York. Damn, what an idiot I was, sitting in my little town for so long and not coming here! No amount of money is worth these impressions! But I'll fix it — from now on I'll treat going into the city like a day off, it's just awesome here!
I also met a girl, also from Moscow — it turned out we literally live a kilometer from each other, at the same subway station! Unbelievable, we've lived side by side our whole lives and met in America)))) I'm still a bit in shock)
I also met a guy I met at the London airport during the flight) As he wanted, he moved to New York too, though work is tight for him, but he's hanging in there)
After the game we went with some guys from Macedonia to see off my Moscow neighbor Vika, then we walked through New York at night to Penn Station. I was so caught up in the trip that I forgot to check what time my return train to my town was. And when I finally checked — I was horrified, because the next one was in 20 minutes, and then not for 2 hours, at 1:37 AM! I needed to get to the station urgently, because I didn't really want to wait 2 hours at night for a train.
But then the guys dropped the ball — on top of that we got lost and didn't know where the station was... in the end, when we figured it out and ran to the station, it turned out the train had left 2 minutes earlier.... Damn, I really didn't know what to do, and I had to get up for work the next day... and my bike was left at the station, I had to pick it up anyway..
But then a lifesaver appeared, a golden person, Veronika, who agreed to give me a lift if I took a train to a different station, but still close to my home (well, close by car), it just arrives earlier.. In the end it turned out to be on the way for the guys too, we even rode on the same train, they just got off earlier.
Only when I went to bed did I realize how tired I was from the day, and that I'd rubbed my feet raw) This morning I barely got up for work, but I was so charged with positive energy from the trip that I managed to get through the whole day))) In short — a sea of impressions! And now I want to get to the city more often, because sitting here nearby I'm bored) I need to make up for lost time))
