as they say, the farther into the forest, the thicker the partisans.

They are driving us into the forest, and it's no longer funny. And they keep telling us how wonderful and splendid they are and that they got some awards that mean nothing to us, but the fact remains — there's not a damn thing here! And when the half‐million city starts to feel cramped, the prospect of spending 4 months in the woods is not appealing at all.

We settle in the attic in a tiny room. There's little space, but we have everything we need. We start working, and then a term firmly enters our life: IBD, which is an imitation of busy activity, because there's work for one and a half people, but four of us are working. I even run around — sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening. Lots of squirrels and chipmunks — they're the main audience. Keyword — boredom. I'd even call it total. We're already delirious and start laughing at things you wouldn't even smile at in a sane state.

want examples and raw facts? sure!

the only joy — the nightly patrol of the area when the residents arrive — turns into hysteria. I should say that Ainane (that is, me), a girl by no means faint‐hearted and who has seen a lot, and when at ten p.m. you drive through a patch of forest where, pardon the expression, a bear is rummaging around, and Varya squeals at every bug — that's normal. but when you check the toilets and find in one a simply inhumanly sized

you seriously start to wonder whether a person could do that or if the notorious bear did it. that's when the lolz and total hilarity begin.

In the evenings there's absolutely nothing to do, and I'm already thanking all the gods that I took my laptop. Now we play Zombies and Peggle like crazy. My advice to you — have about five small entertaining games on your laptop — you'll have something to do, because cosy VKontakte is basically asleep for almost your entire friend list while you have nothing to do in your free time.

One more tip. Take a laptop/PDA (depending on how lucky you are in life) with preinstalled Skype and three browsers (for laptops) and backup drives with programs/drivers for everything possible. They won't take much space, believe me, but they'll save you kilos of nerves, because Murphy's law — if something can happen, it will.

Calling via Skype is the cheapest, wireless internet is available in any McDonald's, Wendy's, Starbucks and other joints. Buy a cup of cola, you're a customer. Customers don't get kicked out, so sit as long as you want until they close up.
