I have received three US visas. The last one was a J-1, the very one needed to participate in the Work and Travel USA program. Back in the day, I did some serious internet surfing to make sure I was prepared for the interview. Here is all the info you will need. America is easy! The embassy is the final stage of the program process. After that, it is just packing your bags, anticipating an unforgettable trip, and choosing the song you will listen to during takeoff.
General information about Work and Travel USA is here, and all the steps before the embassy are on the forum.
Getting ready
Before the embassy
Before you are called for an interview, you must fill out the DS-160 form on the official embassy website. Filling out this form correctly is super important, so the center has described this procedure step-by-step here, and if you have any questions, check the forum; there is a lot of information there. It is best to use the Firefox browser to fill out the form; download it from the official website http://www.mozilla-europe.org/ru/firefox/. You also need a photo taken according to specific requirements. The center should have sent you instructions on how to take the photo correctly via email, or you can check here. The photo must be in digital format.
At the embassy
You need to take the following to the embassy:
- Job Offer (if already received)
- Student ID
- Grade book
- Passport
In general, the center will definitely send you a list of required documents specific to you. They have everything perfectly organized. You always know what to do next.
So, everything is ready, let's go to the embassy.
