So, let's get started ;)
This time I packed very few things (which I've already regretted a hundred times).
Oh well, my trip started in the Big Apple, and this time I decided not to take a taxi, but to try and get to the center on my own two feet. Oh guys, it's really hard to do that with a suitcase. But, hooray, I made it.
I found my hotel, checked in, although at first there were some problems with the room (it smelled disgusting and there were huge stains on the ceiling), thankfully the receptionist changed my room for me. I had a whole day to return to the hustle and bustle of this unusually flawless city. I decided to visit the places I didn't have time to see last year. That is, of course, Madame Tussauds. Aaaaaa, guys, this is just an awesome place. My dream came true just the way it should. These wax figures look so much like the real stars. I even got them mixed up a couple of times =D
Jackie Chan, Robert Pattinson, Obama, Charlie, etc. are standing a millimeter away from you, it's great, such art, god, no words. The only thing that wasn't very cool was the lighting; I had to adjust the camera for every exhibit.((
After that, I headed to Times Square, unbridled fun, laughter from all sides, comic book heroes, naked cowboys, living statues...
For those who follow me on Instagram (http://instagram.com/frecklealex), you saw a couple of weirdos in the video ;)
I also visited M&M's World, two whole floors of these red, yellow, green, blue, and orange nuts. What isn't there—figurines, locks, notebooks, dishes, towels, pajamas... a paradise for kids.
Parents, guard your wallets.))
On the same day, I visited Chelsea Park, very small but so beautiful with access to the water, and in the distance, lights, lights, lights. So romantic.)
After the park, happy, I return to the hostel, enter the room, and OH HORROR, there is a guy lying there. lol. The room turned out to be mixed, and there were no spots in others, everything was already booked for that night. Millions of thoughts flashed through my head on how to run away from there, but the fatigue after the flight and the busy day overcame the fear. Actually, everything was fine, in the morning I safely left for the bus station...
With a large but light suitcase, I headed to the center of Newark for Greyhound. I safely sat down far from the driver and spread my things out on both seats as much as possible so that no one could sit next to me. Yes, I am mean and devious. But what do you think, a woman comes in and kindly asks me if the seat is taken. damn. Of course, I gave up the seat, but I didn't pay attention to the dimensions of this lady... I have never seen such women before, only if in the movie "Big Momma's House". Now you roughly imagine my shock and how I was flattened against the window.
Next, American movies are resting... she took out a big, fat donut covered in powdered sugar and started eating it furiously and washing it down with a liter of coffee. I was just stunned by such a show. It's funny to remember this now, but back then...
Luckily, she got off an hour later at the next station. I exhaled and went to restore my nerve cells at Starbucks, coffeeeee, mwah.)
Until the next station, I enjoyed the solitude and Wi-Fi)) hehe
And a little later, a very handsome American named Daniel sat down next to me, who helped me a lot with finding important information for me, namely, he suggested which websites to find housing in all states and, of course, message boards (work). I love the American mentality, it's really so great.
Later, unfortunately, he got off. And along with this, we were just given a big half-hour stop. And then something hit my head and I did something crazy...
Backstory: My bus was going to Ocean City, which is about an hour's taxi ride to Rehoboth Beach. Unfortunately, there are no local buses from OC to RB, and the devil prompted me to check on googlemap if there are buses from where I am now to RB? And yes, it turned out there is an option with a transfer.
After being a little confused, I decided to get off my bus and try to get there on my own. Oh, how I regretted it...
I walked to the stop, and this station is in the middle of a cornfield, and nothing nearby... no store, no cafe, NOTHING.
Well, I think I'll have to wait half an hour for sure...
half an hour passes, an hour, an hour and a half...
Then panic already attacked me, what if it doesn't come, what to do, where to go, I'm in the middle of a cornfield, damn it!!!...
And, oh, a miracle, after 2.5 hours it arrived. But my difficulties didn't end there, as you remember, the trip with a transfer...
And where was the transfer?
Exactly right, in the black neighborhood... This year I am incredibly lucky with them. All the time while I was standing there waiting for the bus, I prayed that no one would come up to me, naive...
And yessssss, I made it to Rehoboth, yes yes yes.
But that's not all, I need to find a hotel, an employer, and housing. It's eight in the evening, how to manage all this???
After wandering around the outlets (boutiques of famous brands) in search of the right path, I met two girls who offered to take me to the place. Did I already say how much I love American people???)))
And here I am on the spot, hooray, I just couldn't believe it.
I met my employer Chris, a very cheerful and kind person. He put me up for one night at his house, introduced me to wonderful people who helped me find housing, gave me a bike for the summer for free, and even gave me a tour of Rehoboth. amazing.
The next day I already moved into my house, which I have already grown to love so much. With housing, of course, it worked out very quickly for me, usually, guys find it in two or three days, and I did it right upon arrival. Magic and nothing else.^^
That's how I got to this hot city, and I'm sure adventures are already waiting for me, and problems too... but how can you do without them?
Right - it wouldn't be interesting!
