One way or another, to some extent, we all think about the future. About the future in the global sense of the word. What awaits us? Our loved ones? All of humanity?
Year 2029. Morning of an ordinary workday for an ordinary office worker. No need to get out of bed to have breakfast—artificial intelligence will prepare it for you. It may not be as smart as a human yet, but it is capable of doing some work. They say by 2030 they will be even smarter. So, our hero has had breakfast. The breakfast is as filling as possible, minimally caloric, yet saturated with vitamins. Our hero doesn't think much about it. It is made entirely of artificially grown products, yet it causes no harm.
He lives in a two-story house, which is protected by a rather extraordinary security system. It is almost perfected. Thanks to such a system, the number of home robberies and murders has dropped sharply in the last five years.
It's time to go to work. Clean air. It has become much better. Everyone has hybrid cars now, or even not quite hybrids. Unique machines. What do they even run on? It's as if they run on water and oxygen. A new type of fuel was discovered about seven years ago. It did require a specific car, but the scientists did their best. Comfortable, beautiful, convenient, suitable for both city life and beyond.
Let's return to our employee. He likes the world around him. Only a feeling of loneliness sometimes overcomes our hero. Now, live communication is often replaced by the internet, which apparently will remain eternal. Although, on the other hand, if it weren't for it, he wouldn't have met his soulmate, so it's a sin to complain. He is heading to work. Fewer traffic jams, more roads. Almost untouched living nature, but the city has become more like a stone jungle, albeit a very beautiful jungle. Millions of shop lights. They beckon, progress does not stand still, just keep earning money and buying everything you see.
The activities of the International Exchange Center continue to this day. Our hero, back when he was a student, went to Japan through a program, new horizons. Thanks to this trip, he chose what he wanted to do after graduating from university.
Overall, life has improved. Another five years and perhaps this will be a terrestrial paradise. The main thing is to be able to adapt. Not to lose yourself.
