As the saying goes, the deeper into the woods, the thicker the partisans.
They are taking us into the woods, and it's not funny anymore. They keep telling us how wonderful and magnificent they are and that they've received some awards that mean nothing to us, but the fact remains – there's absolutely nothing here! And when a city of half a million people starts feeling cramped, the prospect of spending 4 months in the woods doesn't appeal at all.
We are staying in an attic in a tiny room. There isn't much space, but we have everything we need. We start working, and that's when the term 'simulated activity' firmly enters our lives, because there's only enough work for one and a half people, but four of us are doing it. I even go running – sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening. There are many squirrels and chipmunks – they are the main audience. The keyword is boredom. I would even say total boredom. We are already delirious and starting to laugh at things that you wouldn't even smile at in a sane state.
Want examples and bare facts? Here you go!
The only joy is the night patrol of the territory, which turns into hysteria when the residents arrive. I must say that Aynane (that is, me) is not a faint-hearted girl and has seen a lot, and when you are driving at nine in the evening through a piece of forest where, excuse my language, a bear is roaming around, and Varya squeals at every beetle – that's normal. But when you check the toilets and find one with a simply inhuman-sized POOP, no, even like this -
POOP
you seriously wonder if a human is capable of this or if the notorious bear did it. That's where the lulz and pure gold begin.
In the evenings there is absolutely nothing to do, and I already praise all the gods that I brought my laptop. Now we play zombies and Peggle until we drop. My advice to you – have a handful of small entertaining games on your laptop – you'll have something to do, because the cozy VKontakte is practically asleep with the entire friend list while you have nothing to do in your free time.
Another piece of advice. Take a laptop/PDA (whoever is lucky in this life) with Skype pre-installed and three browsers (for laptops) and backup disks with programs/drivers for everything possible. Believe me, they won't take up much space, but they will save a ton of nerves, because according to Murphy's Law – if something can happen, it will happen.
It's cheapest to call from Skype, wireless internet is in any McDonald's, Wendy's, Starbucks, and other eateries. By buying a cup of cola, you become a customer. Customers aren't kicked out, so sit as long as you want until they close the shop.
