PREPARING FOR SUMMER
Today is November 21, 2008. The last few days of spring are here, and summer is about to begin. There are some changes in the weather. The last couple of days have been truly hot. I could say, "Like in Africa," if I were anywhere else on the planet, or... outside of it... Here, there is always a breeze. And periodically (though only over the last couple of weeks), the wind has been blowing quite strongly. For three days in a row of such continuous gusts (about ten days ago), I felt like my brains would be blown out. But then the wind died down, and the weather improved again.
BY FEBRUARY 15, I AM SUBMITTING THE BOOK FOR FINAL EDITING. AND TO PRINT!
It seems that this time I won't have the support of a number of proofreaders, whom I always tried to find for previous books to avoid errors in the work as much as possible. This time I can only rely on myself and Pavel. Perhaps on one more person. But if anyone wants to join and help, you are welcome to the team while there is still a little time!
But, if anything, I think Eduard Geller (head of the International Exchange Center in Riga, my future publisher) will also be thinking about this, so I think we will manage somehow.
Initially, I wanted to finish writing (only) on April 1st, upon returning to Chelyabinsk. But yesterday, through Ksenia, I gave Eduard my consent to complete the work by the date he proposed — February 15, 2009.
LIVE RIGHT NOW!
I want to return to the previous "post" and supplement it. My brother Seryoga and I had a whole conversation about this in the summer. And he said the following phrase. I liked it very much and remembered it again now.
We were talking, I don't remember exactly about whom. What I remember most is what he said: "And I tell him — why are you stressing?! Stop it! Look around! Life is going on! Here it is, right before your eyes! It's the best time to live! Right at this very moment, and not sometime else! Because, when else, if not now?! Before — it wasn't the time. Later it will be too late. Now is our time! So live! How can you not understand?!"
