I was never a fan of America. It's just... Even when two of my good friends went to the States last summer for Work and Travel USA, I was quite indifferent to it. But then they came back in September... And suddenly everything just clicked. I made up my mind in one evening. And now I can't pull myself away from my laptop; I'm reading, searching, and watching everything possible about the program, about the States themselves, reading the diaries of guys and girls :)

I remember my friend and I talking in the evening about how in 1.5 years we have to take our state exams for an additional translator's diploma. And how the girls really improved their language skills after America... And somehow, one word led to another, and soon we were thinking: "What if?" At first, only my friend was thinking about it somewhat seriously. But then I just decided. For myself. Suddenly, in a minute. There were two reasons: of course, to improve my English, and also to earn at least some money to pay for university in my 5th year. Having spent all last summer in Moscow looking for any kind of money, I had no hope of earning anything in the summer of 2010. But I need the money.

I told my parents a week later. I gradually led the conversation to it, found a thousand and one arguments, and by the time of the decisive phone call, I probably had a gigabyte-sized folder named USA on my laptop :)))

And then everything started spinning... At first, I was really obsessed with this idea. I read almost the entire forum, VKontakte groups, looked at photos, constantly read blogs... And gathered more and more information.

Now, 3 months have passed since the decision. What has changed? :) My desire to go to the States hasn't changed. I've just become a little calmer. My perception of many things has shifted. And partly even my plans for the future. It's too early to talk about that.

Now the main thing is to pay the 2nd installment for the program and fill out the application. And of course, pass the embassy interview. And we are waiting for the job offer, it should be here soon :)))
