Communication /
After researching which local mobile carriers offer the best value for money, we chose:
-AT&T http://www.att.com/
-Tmobile http://www.t-mobile.com/
We spent quite a bit of money on mobile service( At first, we bought a SIM card with an unlimited plan for $10 + $49.99/month from H2O, which we later regretted. It turned out that in the area where we live, North Chicago, the coverage is poor...
We returned the SIM card and got the $10 back, but the money for the month couldn't be refunded since the card had already been activated(
*Note: If you buy something in the USA and want to return it for any reason, there are no problems at all) No one really asks for the reason for your return! You can get cash back or choose something else))) "The customer is always right" here, and they really value their reputation.
We bought a phone along with a Tmobile SIM card for $29.99 + $10 for a 30-minute card, which turned out not to be the best idea( These $10 ran out instantly! ... We switched the plan to unlimited +$50
Total: $140 for our communication!!! - this is sad(, don't make our mistakes!
Transport.
Public transport in the USA, judging by Chicago, is good. The Subway will take you anywhere, and it costs $2.25. You can also buy a pass, for example, a monthly one costs $89.
Buses are also $2.25, just like the subway. They run on every street every block (one block is 1 mile) in residential areas, and there are many more buses in the city center)
With active use of public transport, it comes to about $270 for 3 months... We decided to buy bikes)))
Walmart is a chain of hypermarkets with a huge assortment and minimal, near-wholesale prices))) That's exactly where we bought the bikes, photo attached)
They cost us $99 for mine (the red one) and $74 for Gleb's, that's the price without TAX
- TAX is really annoying here... add another 10% to every price, only then will you get the final price.
