Guys, you have to believe in miracles!
Grand Canyon is the greatest miracle of the planet!!! One of the deepest and most unique canyons in the world!
To see this spectacle, we booked a day trip from Las Vegas for only $80!
And now our bus is cutting through the sands of Arizona towards our dream!
We, tired and sick after an endless night in Vegas, immediately fell into a long-awaited deep sleep instead of admiring the desert landscapes...
At the first stop, we were assigned to different buses depending on the location at the Canyon; we were heading to the southernmost point (South Rim).
And we didn't forget to stuff our backpacks with all the buns that were given for free at breakfast!
Further, I only remember occasionally opening my eyes to see if we had missed the Canyon!
We didn't even bother to wake up to see the famous huge Hoover Dam!
That's how we arrived unnoticed!
We were dropped off at the national park, given 2 hours to enjoy the Canyon, and some maps to boot!
We lazily crawled out of the bus, grumbling discontentedly: "Why didn't they take us right to the Canyon itself, what did we pay money for?"
It became a little easier after 5 hours of sleep, but our state was still far from being able to easily flutter, rejoicing in life!
A short walk through the park... and... there it is - the GRAND CREATION OF NATURE!
I can't even find the words to convey the uniqueness and power of this stunning view! Grand Canyon seemed somehow unreal, like a movie set, like a beautiful picture!
Ilf and Petrov in the book "One-storied America" described the Grand Canyon like this:
"Imagine this. You take a huge mountain range, cut it at the root, turn it upside down, and press it into flat, forest-covered land. Then you take it out. What remains is like a mold of a mountain range. Mountains in reverse. This is the Grand Canyon - one of the greatest geographical wonders of the world. The spectacle of the Grand Canyon has no equal on Earth. And it didn't look like Earth at all. The landscape overturned all, if one may say so, European ideas about the globe. This is what the Moon or Mars might look like to a boy reading a science fiction novel."
During the whole time, we rode a bus around the national park to see the Canyon from different places, and of course, to take photos for memory)
It's a pity that there was so little time, we only managed to see it from above.
I would like to go down to the foot of these whimsical rocky mountains and go rafting on the rivers...
I hope that someday we will get to do this!
