So, I've decided to participate in the Work and Travel USA program again!
Let me tell you a little about myself. As I mentioned, I was already in the USA on this program in 2008 and I loved it :)) Of course, there were mistakes made out of ignorance, but those are just trifles!) But since I'm studying in a fairly difficult department, I couldn't participate in the program for the next two summers because my exams ended at the end of June and it was impossible to take them earlier.
But I didn't waste time, and those two summers I worked in student teams in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, saved money, read forums, and waited... And now, this chance has come to me! :))) In the summer session of 2011, I will only have two exams and I will be able to fly to the USA at the end of May :) And I won't miss this chance! :)))))
By the way, about money: my first trip was fully paid for by my parents, but this one is 50/50 ;)
Here is what I managed to do in September:
September 13th - I went to the CMO office and signed a contract for the self-arranged option. It costs $1260 and $1290 (prices were valid until October 5th, now until November 15th - $1260 and $1320) for second-timers and first-timers respectively. By the way, this year the option with job search costs significantly more - $1725. Since I am going for the second time, I will try to find a job on my own :) Which I wish for you too =)
September 20th - I paid the first installment and submitted the document package to the CMO.
September 23rd - I applied for a new international passport, as the validity of the old one (which I received in connection with a trip to Europe back in 2006) is already expiring. A new-style passport is issued for 10 years and this pleasure costs 2,500 rubles =)
September 27th - my application was accepted and confirmed at the CMO and I was assigned an exchange ID :) I am in the program :))))
September 28th... and now, my dear readers, it's time to move on to the next stage - a difficult, but veeery interesting one! To the job search :)
So, let's begin! =)
