It's been exactly a week since I moved into our fun dorm. In this 18m2 room, 7 different people live, and there are constantly 5-15 of our acquaintances and friends hanging out from the 18th floor, the 11th floor, from Lilia Calagna, and a couple dozen other places whose names no one knows. 7 people in one room means 5 pillows, 25 pairs of shoes in the hallway, kilograms of shared laundry, and blankets on the floor (the lucky ones sleep on the beds). It means other people's VK pages, 5 immutable rules, a shortage of toilet paper, and phone calls from 7 AM to 3 AM. Is it hard or easy, stressful or fun... Probably all of it together. I already feel like these people: Ulyana, Katya, Vanya, Eldar, our Romanian friend Anna-Maria, and Sashka are my relatives. I didn't choose them, it's impossible to stay mad at them for long, and it's impossible not to love them... =)
In this room live Muscovites (maaaaskali, as they call us), a representative from Yekaterinburg, Minsk, cool guys from Kazakhstan, and, again, a Romanian girl whom we call a Moldovan so she doesn't understand we're talking about her. I'm enriching my Russian with funny words and expressions (Katya makes a special contribution to this).
You get used to the way our Ukrainians talk very quickly.
Some of us keep taking food from stores, some work legally (like Katya, who came on a job offer). Vanya collects donations, and Ulyana and I are trying to do some amateur activities. A few days ago, we gathered Hawaiian flowers and made wreaths from them, which we then hoped to sell for some money. In the end, we only managed three wreaths, which looked wilted after half an hour, but the joy was immense))).
Impressions of what we're doing are piling up into one huge heap. We go hiking, to the beach, and I'm finally starting to feel like I'm on VACATION. (I'll write about this later).
Right now, as I write this, the people in my room are sleeping, talking, listening to music, and cooking borscht all at the same time.
I still don't have a job, but I have a place to live. And I have support. I don't pin hopes on tomorrow and I hardly dream about anything; I just really want everything to be for me as I deserve. And I am infinitely grateful for everything I already have.
