Let's keep this short. If you have one day in Orlando and don't know where to go, head to Universal. You can visit Disney in Los Angeles; it's the same, but the Universal there is much worse.
Here, it consists of two parts: Studios and Islands of Adventure. Studios is the same as in LA—little rides, but people say (and I believe them) it's not that great. Lots of movie junk, dolls, etc. The Island ($80 ticket), however, is just a huge amusement park with crazy roller coasters, water rides, and a ton of other cool stuff!! Better get a Fast Pass; it doesn't cost much more, but you'll get through lines 4 times faster. Otherwise, you'll go crazy. With the pass, the pace is just right—barely enough time to catch your breath))
If you can't stand adrenaline at all, welcome to Disney World. The main park here is Magic Kingdom ($85 entry). Some people like it, but we were disappointed. It turned out not to be a "World" at all, just a country town, if not a suburb. The rides are okay, but VERY childish, and you sometimes wait in line for an hour or an hour and a half. Most rides are just a 3-minute flight next to characters from your favorite cartoons waving at you. The water drop ride is cool, and Peter Pan, where you fly over London. You can also visit Winnie the Pooh and the Haunted Mansion, but otherwise, we just went to check it off the list.
The famous character parade is just exhausted faces with forced smiles and a security cordon. The faces of people forced to walk and dance on stilts in the heat all day evoke nothing but a desire to help them. I still remember them clearly (even better than my employers' faces). You can't go into the Princess Castle; overall, it's a total sham. It takes 6-7 hours to walk through the whole park, no more, so there's no point in arriving in the morning. Better get some sleep))
In general, Disney was one of our biggest disappointments in America. None of the four of us liked it. And quite strongly. It was more about the resentment of unmet expectations. So, better expect nothing))
The main tip: if you're there, for the fireworks that happen every day at 9 or 10 PM (I don't remember exactly, ask there), stand closer to the Castle!! Then the fireworks will be right above you, and it will be very cool!! If you stand to the side, even at a good spot, you'll be watching it like on TV. You'll lose all the fun. The fireworks are the coolest thing there.
Anyway, this was a sad post, but we thought everything would get better the next day, because we were waiting for a SPACE SHUTTLE LAUNCH!!!!
