So, let's start with a big hello to everyone!!! Starting my story )))
My journey began with boarding a plane in Almaty! I called everyone one last time while I was still in my home country )) and now the plane is picking up speed and whoosh, we're flying )) this was my first flight ever!!! And in general, I had never been more than 200km away from my city ))) and here I am, USA, another continent, I really aimed high!! The flight went well, but it's too early to celebrate, this was just a layover in Abu Dhabi (UAE). We wandered around the airport for a whole 12 hours waiting for the connection, explored everything there, and even managed to get some sleep! Oh yeah, 12 hours passed, we board, take off and... 14 hours of sitting in the seat ahead... But it wasn't all that terrible, the service was top-notch (literally and figuratively)))), Etihad is an Arab airline!! Everyone has their own DVD player, movies, music, you can even watch the view from the cameras on the bottom and front of the plane!! And now, a different world appears in the window for me, specifically New York!!! But wait, NY is not the final destination ))) there's still a 16-hour wait for the connection ahead!!!! Good thing we bought the tickets in advance, they were 3 times cheaper ))
New York, New York!!! The first impressions weren't the best!! All the restrooms in the airport were dirty. Without thinking twice, we decided to go to Manhattan late at night, specifically to Times Square!! Again, the subway is terribly dirty. We studied in detail how to go, which subway line to take, and there we were -20 bucks later ))) But after such a long flight, there was no excitement, I was just thinking about getting some proper sleep! So I won't focus on NY, I'll tell you about it later, at the very, very end of my journey!! After walking around Manhattan, we were back at the airport!! After wandering around the terminals for 2 hours, we finally found a place to sleep )))) And now it's morning, our boarding, we are flying again!!!! It was a big bummer for us that there wasn't a single TV on the plane and they didn't even feed us during the 4-hour flight, and to buy food you needed a card, which we didn't have!! We were like all respectable students with a ton of cash ))))
P.S. Unfortunately, there are no photos from NY at all, the flash drive broke (((
