First of all, we needed a bus, since you can't walk out of the airport. We found the right route pretty quickly. By the way, the rumors that there are a lot of illegal immigrants from Mexico in Miami are true. Even some airport workers here don't speak English, only Spanish.
It was still early morning, so after reaching Miami Beach, where did we go? That's right! To the ocean=) And it's paradise... You can often hear that the water in Miami is like warm milk, and there's not a drop of a lie in that! Walking along the ocean coast, you realize that you didn't come in vain and that hot, polished Orlando without water doesn't compare to this place at all. And the people: if the city of Disney was full of fat people, and seeing a beautiful face was a rare occurrence, then here it's the exact opposite. Already in the morning, you can see attractive, fit girls out for a run. For an hour, we literally forgot about all our troubles and just enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed life, and the fact that we were lucky enough to visit this magical place.
But it's time to return to reality. We started looking for the address on South Beach that the guys renting out the room gave us. We found it. And what did we see? An old, shabby house, a room that turned out to be 3 times smaller than the one we had in Orlando. In a 2-meter kitchen, cockroaches take up a whole meter. And for all this pleasure, the landlady asks for 500 dollars per person. We tried to explain to 3 WaT students already living in this room that the woman was ripping them off like some kind of illegals, and that they could find a better and cheaper place. They, of course, didn't believe us.
It was time for plan #2. Expecting something like this, I had written down the address of an inexpensive hostel (only $12 a night) just in case at night. That's where we headed.
The hostel was owned by a Mexican family, yet they treated all guests professionally and kindly. There was free internet, a pool table, and even a jacuzzi! We decided to stay there for 3 days while we looked for normal housing.
