Another bus ride and we are in Salt Lake City. The city isn't very big, despite being the state capital. Perhaps its main attraction is the Mormon temple. Yes, I forgot to mention that Utah, and Salt Lake City in particular, is the capital of the Mormons. Maybe not everyone knows who they are. I would call them a sect, although they position themselves as... Despite the fact that they took the Bible as the basis of their teaching, some of their principles seem strange and wild to Christians and Catholics. For example, polygamy is allowed among Mormons. But what struck us most was the luxury and scale with which they built the church, the conference center, gardens, and other smaller buildings. They only let their own people into the church itself, but you can walk around the conference center. It houses the world's largest organ and can accommodate 20,000 people. The roof of this building is made of granite and weighs about 8 tons. On the roof, you will find gardens, and these are not just some flowers and bushes, but a real forest! But the conference center is impressive not only for its scale, but also for its interior decoration: wooden panels, paintings, fountains... In short, it all looks more like the headquarters of a successful corporation than a meeting place for believers.
