The last 3 days didn't go according to plan at all. On the first day in Key West, I managed to hit the beach and walk around downtown, meeting Russian tourists, seeing bananas growing on palm trees, and chickens roaming the streets)
But the happiness was short-lived - a hurricane arrived the next day. I spent the remaining 2 days just sitting at home, watching TV, and surfing the internet. My host tried to cheer me up, but honestly, he just annoyed me)
The scariest part isn't the hurricane itself, but the fact that I might not make it to New York on time, and consequently, won't make my flight to Moscow. It's not a fact yet, but it could very well happen.
But once again, I got lucky with good people. In the morning, when I was supposed to take a bus to Miami, all trips were canceled due to the hurricane... So my host drove me to the Miami airport in his car, which is a 4-hour drive) At a stop, we picked up another guy who was also waiting for a bus to Miami, which weren't running that day.
Strangely enough, the roads were dry and clear, with no debris, so we reached the airport without any issues. Now, if the plane takes off normally, I'll be in New York today, or more precisely, on Long Island. I decided to go to Veronika's for the last couple of days since I couldn't find a host in New York.
I'm thinking about it now as if I'm flying from Miami HOME to New York) This state has become like a second home to me over this summer... Finally, the period of switching couches and beds in strangers' houses is over. And I don't have to wonder anymore what my next host will be like—a maniac or a good person))
