I can't say I was too nervous before the interview, but I think it's worth describing since it might be useful to someone.
The interview was via Skype and lasted about 2 hours because the connection was poor and kept cutting out, plus there were about 10 of us. First, the employer told us general info about how great and fun it is in America, that the work team there is almost like a family, etc. Then they started calling us in groups based on the job location. And, of course, I was in the last one.
Most often, they ask questions like:
- Have you ever worked in a similar job?
- Name your positive qualities (strengths).
- Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
- Where do you study? What are you studying?
- Why did you choose this particular job?
Anyway, I won't drag it out; I passed the interview and now the job is mine.
By the way, I've written so much about the work, but I haven't even said what the job is. I got a cashier-waiter position in the city of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. And most importantly, it's only an hour and a half bus ride from New York.
