From the flight Rome - New York, I realized that tasty and very unhealthy food is definitely a thing here. On the plane, they fed us like crazy: lasagna, sandwiches, salads, beer, red wine—it was very hard to refuse anything, especially while traveling.
When we arrived in New York, we realized that eating even at a basic McDonald's would be quite expensive for us, and we needed to look for some alternatives.
We couldn't find anything better than this miracle place near our hotel. Mexicans work there, skillfully spinning pizza dough on their fingers. For just $1, you can buy a slice of incredibly delicious pizza, for which you would pay a fortune in Russia, or perhaps not even find anything like it at all. The pizza is simple and surprisingly very tasty. For $2.75, you can buy two hearty slices of pizza and a drink of your choice, plus sprinkle it with seasonings, and you definitely won't feel hungry for half a day.
The counters of small American shops are full of a huge selection of drinks and juices, the likes of which I have never tried anywhere else. "Arizona" watermelon-flavored soda for a dollar is divine.
Americans love to point out on their products that they contain a lot of vitamins and healthy properties. It's all nonsense, just incredibly tasty chemicals =))
If you want to grab a bite at a McDonald's, you'll have to shell out a considerable amount for a standard Big Mac meal. So, if you are in Manhattan, don't miss the "1 Dollar Pizza" cafe.
In the New Harbor grocery store, you can find a lot of tasty but simultaneously expensive products. Everything sold there can be prepared in the microwave! )) The food is very high in calories and far from healthy. I'm thinking about starting to eat soup at least twice a week at the cafe where I work.
If you decide to go to the USA, be sure that you will find your extra pounds right here! ))
