VACATION
I took a week off. And I can see it: after just a day and a half, I've come alive! I felt a surge of energy and joy again. For the second day in a row, I've been crashing at five in the evening and waking up at night. Yesterday I got up at midnight, and then until four I was sleepwalking: reading a book, writing letters, listening to music. Relaxing. Today I woke up at one. And now it's ten to seven in the morning, and I still haven't gone to bed. But why should I?! A couple of times I was about to, but then some idea would grab me, I'd sit down at the computer and write down that thought. Writing posts, letters. I wrote to my grandmother (it's so unusual to write by hand now) and on the computer to Ela, Olga, and Yulia — my friends. I was reading a book by Irvin Yalom. And at six in the morning, I went to the ocean. I've been living in close proximity to it for a month and a half, and I've been there no more than ten times. I want to note that the nearest good beach is relatively far from me. About twenty-five minutes by minibus or half an hour by bike. But Vitka is coming in January, I hope by that time it will be hot here for a long time, and we'll hang out there together. Or maybe we'll go sunbathe with the girls before that too.
"How beautiful this world is, look!
How beauti-i-i-i-ful this world is!"
Do you know who wrote these lines?
I WILL BUILD A HOUSE
More and more I am captured by the idea of building a house with my own hands. Of course, I will need the help of friends... Are there any who wouldn't mind? And it seems unrealistic much less than before. On the contrary — it's interesting and exciting. Especially looking through the window glass into this morning. The morning is magical. It gives a lot of hope. Especially a morning like this, when you don't have to go to work in the evening to a place where the line of work isn't to your liking!
But building a house, of course, is not easy. And I realize that. And even more importantly than the construction itself, is choosing a place in this world where it will be erected. I am practically convinced that it will be on my native land. In Russia. And, surely, if not in Chelyabinsk itself, then in the region. But the specific place is not yet known to me. And it's desirable not to choose alone.
"I will build a house on my native land,
And one day happiness will settle in it.
White lilacs will bloom in the spring,
Everything that is currently just a dream will come true.
Birds will fly in and build a nest.
May it be bright for them in our garden!
And hand in hand, you and I will
Watch the sunset and meet the sunrise.
Stars and the moon will decorate our dreams,
A new star will flare up, never to fade.
We will embody our dreams in inspiration,
Our love will have a continuation.
And, someday, in the morning, with the sun at dawn
Laughter will wake us up — it's our children laughing,
They will run to ask to go swimming with them.
Well, so be it! Time to wake up!
We will set the table, full of ripe berries.
Fresh fruit juice, bunches of grapes!
We will invite friends over, until dawn
To celebrate that this life is so beautiful.
And when the years multiply our success,
Children, through the centuries, will continue our life,
Great-grandchildren and grandchildren will love us,
And I will tell you, taking your palms in my hands:
I was so happy in this earthly life.
As before, you see: I love you so much!
Don't be sad that we have turned gray.
We will meet again, young!
Remember the mole on my face,
And you will remember my eyes in a new life.
I will find you, love will help me,
We will be able to be together again!
And we will build a house. On native land.
White lilacs will bloom in the spring.
Birds will fly in and build a nest,
And it will be bright for them in our garden.
Stars and the moon will decorate our dreams,
A new star will flare up, never to fade.
We will embody our dreams in inspiration,
Our love will have a continuation."
This is Oles again. I'm quoting him for the second time. This is one of my most favorite songs ever.
