Continuing my story about how I was looking for a job.
AAA!!!! I wrote so much on this page, but nothing was saved(((( Damn! This is a lesson for me to copy the text before saving((( Oh well, starting all over again((((
So, here it is. I send an email with content roughly like this: My name is, I am from, I am participating in Work and Travel USA, blah blah. I will have all legal grounds to work in the USA. I found your restaurant, I want to work for you from June to August. I am incredible, smart, etc. Ready for a phone or Skype interview. I can send a resume. If you are interested, write back.
Recently, I also add that I have experience in the restaurant business and that I am studying at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality...
I sent quite a lot per day (by my standards). About 30-40 emails. Guys on the forum wrote that they sent 300 per day/evening/night. But that seems a bit unrealistic to me, imho. Unless you just have a list of email addresses and, without even looking at who you are sending to, spam everyone indiscriminately. I couldn't do it that way.
By the way, I hope everyone knows the difference between a cover letter and a resume? Just in case, I'll explain... you never know who might need it)) A cover letter is a very short summary. No one is going to read it for long. I even read somewhere that it should be no wider than a "finger's width". That is, you wrote in 12-point font. You put your index finger to the screen... if the letter fits into the "finger" from the base to the nail - then there is a chance it will even be read. If there is something to highlight with a slightly more noticeable font - highlight it. For example, arrival/departure dates and the fact that you will be able to work LEGALLY in the States. In general, this is the only thing that worries potential employers.
