Well friends, I decided to share my experience of successfully passing the interview in Yekaterinburg with you.
First things first, as soon as you find out your interview date, rush to the station to get your tickets. It is quite possible that they might be sold out for the date you need. And now, a VERY IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT skimp on bed linen (experience confirms the validity of this advice)! I was stingy and regretted it deeply; lying on an unmade bed covered with a coat for 5 hours straight is not the best prospect.
So, the ticket is bought, time to head to the station. Try to be there half an hour before the time indicated on the ticket, and DO NOT FORGET that the time is ALWAYS indicated in Moscow time. So don't arrive at the Tyumen station 2 hours before departure, that's unnecessary too.
Documents: try to keep your passport separate from your money! Anything can happen! You will need the following for the interview: Russian passport, student ID (renewed for the current academic year), grade book (with the winter session completed), and the printed pamphlet on human trafficking (which you will receive electronically from your IEC representative). It is worth reading the latter and having a clear understanding of what is written in it; in 95% of cases, the Consul asks if you have read it. You can also take your job-offer (practice has shown that, in theory, it is enough to know the details from it). AND THAT IS ALL! For heaven's sake, don't drag anything else with you! You will only complicate the security check procedure at the entrance to the consulate.
Pay attention! Plan your finances clearly! The trip will cost you ~1000 rubles. For various needs, take at least 1000. Practice has shown that this is the optimal amount of money.
