So, while paving my way to the States, the next huge 'forest' in my path turned out to be an EARLY EXAM SESSION! And I'll need a huge axe to 'chop it down' (without any criminal activity, of course)))))!!!
My personal, how should I put it... hmm... informational note. I'm writing about Belarusians and Belarusian universities.
First of all, the Ministry of Education does not consider an exchange program trip a valid reason for taking exams early.
Therefore, my dears, there are several ways to pass exams ahead of everyone else and stay in America for a couple of weeks longer!
After reading forums, I found out the main methods.
-
If the dean's office is lenient about trips, getting the session done is easy. You write an application, and most often the dean's office asks for copies of round-trip tickets and some other papers... (It's best to check with those who have traveled on the program from your university before about the dean's office policy).
-
If the dean's office is against trips, but you take all exams orally, you just negotiate with the professors individually. You take the exam early with the professor personally, and then one of your classmates brings your grade book to the actual exam. (I, for example, take computer tests, so this option doesn't work for me).

If the dean's office is against it and professors refuse to break the rules, there are a few ways:
a) We can't all be perfectly healthy, and a sanatorium or health retreat wouldn't hurt! Therefore, you can simply see a doctor who will write a consultation report recommending treatment or recovery. And in the dean's office, you say you are going to a sanatorium for a long time - therefore you want to take the session earlier! After all, health comes first!))))))b) If you are perfectly healthy, you'll have to use your wit and all your charm)))
Most dean's offices are accommodating to those with high grades, good attendance, and so on. So it's better to try hard)))))))
I chose the third option. And I will start implementing it tomorrow)
My pros: good relationship with the department head, good attendance, excellent grades in my record book (by the way, not a single retake))))))))), and of course, my thyroid, which for most Belarusians is either enlarged or reduced))))))))))
My cons: I am terrified of the dean!!!!))))
