I can say just a few words about the consulate.
I prepared for about a week using questions found online. I passed the consular interview easily, although out of 40 people, only 6 were granted a visa. I wasn't asked many questions. The only thing worth noting: if you are having your interview in Yekaterinburg, definitely mention animals to the older consul; he loves them. He asked me if I had any siblings, to which I replied no, but I have a cat and a dog who are like a younger brother and sister to me. After that, he pointed to a pamphlet, asked if I had read it, and started preparing my visa documents.
If you get the younger one, then (I don't want to scare you), nothing but luck will help you. He is "stamping" denials!!!
That's all! Getting ready for my flight to the USA!!! So happy!!!
