A delightful sight opened before my eyes: the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, sunbeams playing on the crests of the waves, reflecting and creating a rainbow in the droplets of salty spray. Admiring this mesmerizing picture, I didn't even notice how time flew by, and now our turbojet is already landing at New York airport. The airlocks opened, and I was already walking down the ramp under the scorching rays of the American sun. I inhaled this air, the air of free America. The flight from Moscow to New York took a whole hour, and I am already burning with impatience to look into this new world, full of discoveries and impressions.
Back in childhood, my mother loved to tell me about her own trip to America. It was back in 2010. I laughed for a long time when she told me how much it cost her to sign up for the IEC program, how much paperwork there was, and how difficult it all was. But now it is 2029, and many changes have occurred since then. When my friend shouted to me on the phone in April with wild delight: "I'm going to America!!!!!!!", my last doubts disappeared and I blurted out: "Me too!!!!". Our joy knew no bounds, we chatted for several hours, discussed everything, planned, dreamed. And now the time has come to sign up. I went to the IEC website, talked online with the director, paid for the program with a Webcard, and started the visa application process. To do this, you just need to go to the US department database, scan my wrist-embedded ID with the monitor. Then the online monitor turned on and the consul asked me:
-"How are you?"
-"I’m fine! Thank you", I replied with joy,
-"Welcome to USA!".
That was the end of the whole process. It seems like it was so long ago! And I am already standing on American soil, squinting from the bright sun.
I was walking through New York, this magnificent city, and I never tired of admiring it! These skyscrapers reaching for the sky, this unimaginable movement of a huge number of people – all this captures and fascinates. I decided to stop by a cafe, drink some hot morning coffee, and at the same time watch from the window this endless ocean of people running somewhere, immersed in their thoughts. This sight is so absorbing that it is impossible to take my eyes off the window... and I want to run somewhere with them myself... in unison...
I was distracted from contemplating this picture by a waiter. He was a representative of the Dera-Americans. I had only heard about them before, and now I was observing him in person. From history, I remember that in 2020 we concluded a friendly agreement with aliens from the planet Dera on the exchange of workers, and now the USA has become the first country where aliens have become equal to ordinary citizens. They were the best cooks in the Galaxy, the fame of their culinary art spread across the planet, and everyone dreamed of trying their delicacies. The waiter's amazing appearance struck me: he held a towel in one hand, a menu in the other, and he held the third one behind his back, as expected. His skin had a beautiful olive shade, his eyes were distinguished by extraordinary depth, all three eyes were bright blue, like an azure sky, which suited him unusually well. Without taking my admiring gaze off him, I placed my order and unfolded a map of New York. It was an interactive world map, my friend gave it to me for my birthday, here you could select a city with one touch, then, by zooming in, a street, a house, and see all this in 3D. Looking at New York, I found Chinatown, Brooklyn, and even Dera Avenue, where exclusively Dera-Americans lived; in everyday life they are simply called "Deras", but it is incorrect to call them that to their faces.
And here is my order: black coffee with a crispy croissant. After breakfast, I went outside: a new world was before me, and I hurried to plunge into it...
