At the top of Table Mountain, there are several viewpoints, a whole national park, a restaurant, restrooms (!!), and souvenir shops. Basically, a whole city!
Of course, we had a little bite to eat.)
I met some fellow countrymen. I don't know exactly which country they were from, but they spoke Russian.
And that's where the fun began. You probably remember that Frodo and Sam were picked up from the mountain by eagles and safely delivered to their cozy beds. Yeah, we didn't have any eagles. Moreover, the "ring," which was my camera, was still with me and pulling me toward the ground.
On top of that, the German woman was very tired and decided to go back down in the cable car. It was getting late, and I had to make the descent down the steep rocks all by myself.
The sun and I started a race—who would be faster: it diving into the ocean or me getting down the mountain.
Well, if I'm alone, I'm alone! The guides didn't go with us, the German woman left... I'm Russian, I can do anything. Remember, the horse, the burning hut, and now a mountain descent too))
On the other hand, it's actually better! I didn't have to wait for anyone, I was only responsible for myself, and all that.
And let me tell you, going down the mountain is scarier than going up. You look down, and there's an abyss! By the end of the descent, I couldn't feel my legs anymore. But then the sunset started, and the sky turned into pink pudding.
I was at the foot of the mountain at seven in the evening. The shuttles weren't running, and there were no taxis)
Actually, I beat the sun; it wasn't dark yet! Just twilight.
How did I get home?
I got lucky.
Almost at the very bottom, I met a lovely woman. I made friends with her. It turned out she climbs the mountain every week without fail. She has a car. And she gave me a free ride right to my hostel)) The world is full of kind people, friends!
Right now, I'm sitting on the couch and can't move my legs. They hurt at night. But it was all worth it to climb Table Mountain. Believe me.
It's a miracle. It's life.
