It's 3:24 AM local time. I'm writing in a notebook because the internet is paid. Sleeping fellow travelers are lying around; we huddled together on metal seats pushed into the very corner of the bus station for Wetting Floor. A light, cool breeze is treating the uninvited guests harshly. Yes, we decided to head to Pittsburgh. Back in Brooklyn, we agreed that we wanted to see a bit more than the overused and expensive NY. It all started when we kept unsuccessfully looking for a job. After visiting another employment agency (of which there are plenty in Brighton alone), we realized there wasn't much point in them.
Advice! Be careful with employment agency services. They can be front companies, money-grabbing schemes (it reached up to $400 per vacancy), or just low-paying jobs (for example, a loader job, as claimed, 8-10 dollars/hour, turned out to be minimal work per day or none at all).
However, don't panic and run away from them; many acquaintances found good vacancies this way. The main thing is not to jump at the first offer. In fact, we had several options, but we were picky and went to pack our bags.
Arriving at the Autobus Station, we mapped out a route to Washington DC, but since we arrived late, the trips there were only for tomorrow. Then we spontaneously ventured to mysterious Pittsburgh. The surprised cashier asked us a couple of times and said it wasn't the way to Washington. We replied that we just needed just travelling. People around us were smiling :)
Advice! A small piece of advice. For those like us, disorganized. If you ever have to use an intercity bus, don't forget to CHECK-IN your luggage. And arrive early, otherwise, there's a queue and you won't make your time :/. To make the trip cheaper, use Chinese buses, they cost significantly less (though we haven't used them yet).
For now, we are sitting in Philadelphia (as they affectionately call it Philly here). The full trip cost us $140 for two. As you understand, we have no plans for work or housing; we are surrendering to the will of fate :)
