On the morning of September 14th, we got up at 7 AM, said goodbye to our hotel hosts, took the subway, and headed to JFK. Our flight was at 12, but we needed to pick up our luggage from storage by 8. Once at the airport, we had breakfast and started exploring the 'surroundings.' Personally, I couldn't be dragged away from the Duty Free section, where you can buy everything tax-free. I can't say everything there is cheap, of course... but that's because they really have high-quality, branded cosmetics, perfumes, and so on. I couldn't choose perfumes for myself and my friends... all those scents started making me feel nauseous, and I couldn't distinguish anything anymore. By the way, they don't just sell Duty Free products to 'anyone'... the customer must provide a boarding pass. And they don't give you your items right away either, only right before boarding the plane. By the way, we were scared a lot by stories that we wouldn't be allowed to bring many things through, and that they would even charge a duty on electronics) That's all nonsense! Or maybe it was like that before, because nobody really checked us, and nobody charged anything for electronics either.
Once I sat on the plane, I still didn't fully realize that tomorrow I would be in Moscow, and the day after that, I would be home... 'Is this really it?! Is our suffering and wandering finally over?! And finally, I'll return home and won't have to think about what will happen tomorrow... won't have to solve all the problems by myself?! God, why don't I want to say goodbye to all this?' Yes, for me and Asel, this summer was truly the hardest and longest... yes, we had to 'survive' in real life, forgetting about pain and fatigue. But if everything had been easy and simple, we wouldn't have been able to test our resilience and temper our character... I would just remember how fun the summer was... and I doubt I would have learned anything from this trip. Even if I had known in advance that we would have to go through many difficulties in America, I still wouldn't have changed anything... everything was, in fact, awesome! For me, this summer became a summer of change, first and foremost of myself. What could be better than such a school of life?! Probably nothing! Saying goodbye is always very hard, especially if you don't know if you'll ever see this again or not... But even if I don't manage to visit this country again, the main thing is that it played a very important role in my life...
Goodbye, America... but I will definitely return someday! You'll see!)
