Kids, I'm going to tell you an amazing story... Although no, let my charming assistant tell the amazing story, and I'll introduce us for now.
This is Yulka.
She only looks this wonderful on special occasions; usually, her friends have to settle for her rather prosaic appearance.
She dances beautifully, seriously. She used to do flamenco and even has a certificate from a veeery cool teacher of this art; now she dances hustle (it's like in "Dirty Dancing," but without Patrick Swayze).
She has worked in various cool places in HR, even though she is studying law. By the way, she is about to quit her last, most pretentious job precisely because of Work and Travel USA. Last summer, she went to be a camp counselor for 2 sessions, even though she had never been to a camp as a child herself. She used to teach English to young talents, and now she teaches me.
Yulka is a master of jumping into any adventure! You just need to say, "Let's go..." and she's already packing her bags. That's how it happened with America.
What else can I say that's informative about her... Yulka is a wonderful friend!!!
Yulka is the inspirer of the entire Runet, because everyone who reads her blog gets infected by her positivity and the desire not to sit still. Normal people have a restless spirit that comes and goes, but Yulka lives as if a pack of porcupines is crawling all over her.
And this is me!
My name is Masha, but I have a wonderful nickname, "Ryboginyushka" (Fish-Goddess), which comes from my last name. Since it amuses me more than my name, I will introduce myself this way.
I draw terribly, dance mediocrely, but I sing quite well and have a unique talent for playing almost any piece on the eight guitar chords I know.
I work as an assistant to the CEO at a theatrical agency in Moscow, study at a law academy, and put my body through crazy marathons of either overeating or starving and intense fitness.
I used to really dislike traveling, but for the last few years, I can't imagine a vacation without getting away from my beloved, but so busy Moscow.
And this, actually, is a decent photo from two years ago - for contrast.
A long time ago, music really brought us together: by fate, I overheard a conversation between two classmates who were discussing their upcoming trip to the musical "Monte Cristo" they had already seen, and something prompted me to ask to join them. Since then, Yulka and I, from two people who hadn't exchanged a word in 2.5 years of study and were absolute strangers, gradually turned into the truest of friends.
By the way, we are not alone in this world! We have a completely wonderful group of friends, about whom we will definitely tell you someday. It's just that, again, by fate, the two of us are going to America, which means we are the ones running the blog.
We are aggressive fans of Broadway musicals, American TV series, and quality literature.
What else can I say?
In this blog, we will tell you - quite step-by-step, I suppose - about our journey. We will start with the crazy ideas that once just hovered in our wild heads, we will tell you how "from a mirage, from nothing, from my madness" our desire to rush to America arose... We will tell you about the visa, preparations, plans, dreams - and then about what happened and how it turned out.
Welcome)
