For me, a trip to the USA is not just a chance to learn English or live away from my parents. It is the fulfillment of a dream I had as a seventh-grader, when I had just transferred to a new school, was afraid to talk to my classmates, and spent days watching Scrubs.
America has always been a place that seemed so fun, surrounded by beautiful people, well-grounded plots with unpredictable twists, and comedic characters. I didn't believe it. And now I'm going to break the stereotypes in my head, as well as in the heads of those around me who have a firm opinion about American culture, even though they have never been there themselves.
Exactly one year ago, I first shared the idea of Work and Travel with Zhenya, and then with my parents. Exactly one year later, there is a packed suitcase in my room, a 3-month visa, and a ton of plans for the summer.
I kept a blog on VKontakte (https://vk.com/wielec_usa), more information there!
