So, my last day in America has arrived. This morning, I decided to wrap up my stay in the USA by visiting the Brooklyn Bridge—a place I had always wanted to see. With a hot coffee in hand, I took a leisurely walk toward the bridge. Its sheer grandeur was incredible; I finally saw this historic bridge from the pictures with my own eyes. The pedestrian path in the center offers a stunning view of Manhattan. There were already many tourists out early in the morning, but I didn't regret going there alone before heading to the airport. With every step, I got closer to Brooklyn, walking through a part of it to reach my subway station, curiously observing the building facades and the cars passing by.
My suitcases were packed, and the taxi was called. Within twenty minutes, the car arrived, and I was speeding toward home, saying goodbye to the city I had grown to love from the car window. The driver wished me a safe flight and quickly drove off to his next task. And I... already at the airport, was reflecting on the summer, all its ups and downs. It was a bit sad to say goodbye, but I couldn't change anything. The plane picked up speed, lifting off the ground... New York looked like it was in the palm of my hand with its countless yellow lights. For some reason, the song by Nautilus Pompilius, 'Goodbye America,' came to mind. It made me smile and say goodbye to the country I had become so accustomed to during the summer of 2014.
Recalling all of this now, I can only say a huge thank you to my parents for giving me a second chance. That summer will forever remain in my memory for a reason. And as I look through my numerous photos again, I quietly hum to myself that maybe, just maybe, I will return one day...
Small tips:
- Don't bring unnecessary things; if you need something, buy it there.
- It's wise to bring a power adapter.
- Enable roaming if you aren't going to buy an American SIM card.
- Internet: New York has issues with this, but you'll find Wi-Fi at Starbucks 100%.
- Try to keep your documents with you at all times.
- It's better to have some small change on you at first.
Well, I think that's everything I wanted to share. Thanks for your attention :)
