So, let's get down to business.
As mentioned above, I got the opportunity and was registered. It was decided to leave everything to fate and choose the Full option, which could send you absolutely anywhere. At that moment, of course, I wanted to go to some big city or somewhere closer to the city of my dreams - New York.
After that, all that remained was to wait and read other people's blogs, articles, and information about the country, taxes, work, and so on and so forth. After passing the interview with the sponsor, I realized that I had been waiting for my employer for too long. Another little nuisance. You look at others, they are already preparing for the embassy, and you are still waiting and waiting. That's when it seems again: that's it, Aziz, the story ended before it even began. Fuel was added to the fire by my agency colleagues, who got into some trouble because of their premises and documentation, which, in fact, complicated life for all Full participants. And it was already spring.
But at one fine moment, a cherished message finally arrives from an employee at my agency that my interview will take place today after all. To say that I was afraid is an understatement. Tip #2 - Don't be afraid of your interviews. Employers don't hire managers or marketers; they realize that you have little or no experience in this field. They want to see that you can at least abc-speak in English-American and are trying very hard to smile. Yes, you have probably heard this hundreds of times already. Smile and be a pleasant conversationalist. It so happened that I was very worried, and I also missed a couple of calls from my manager because he started calling earlier than scheduled, and I was far from the computer. And then we had a relaxed conversation and a lot of laughter, and when I asked if he was hiring me, honestly, he looked at me like I was an idiot.
I was going to the state of Montana, to the western part of Glacier National Park, to a small restaurant to work as a cook. A cook! To be honest? In my whole life, I had only cooked sausages, scrambled eggs, and instant noodles. Yes, I am a Chef in that regard. Of course, I spun him a yarn that I could feed myself and more. Although at that moment I didn't care at all where to go. Especially when I googled these places. Yes, I attached a couple of those photos from Google that I saw back then. The cafe, by the way, is called Eddie's Grocery Cafe and Gifts, and it is located, to be precise, in Apgar Village.
And this is the insanely beautiful Lake McDonald, which is 5 minutes from the cafe itself.
And everything around is surrounded by incredible forests and nature, as well as wild animals. And then I realized that this would not only be work, but also a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
P.S. And there is also a park website where there is a webcam service. One of them is pointed at my restaurant.
