Well, the 'golden September' has finally arrived. After finishing work and leaving Cape Cod, feeling like true, confident Americans, my Azerbaijani friend and I (some flew home earlier, others chose to see different parts of America) headed to New York with our Mexican friend, Luis, to stay with his cousin for a week!
I discovered New York from different sides, good ones of course. What could we have seen in a day when we arrived in June? Almost nothing) but here we had a week) ah! We saw everything we planned. We, the traveling frogs, didn't walk through the whole thing, but a significant part of the BIG APPLE. We even took a boat to the Statue of Liberty twice! Yes, once wasn't enough for us... just thanks to Luis, our friend, who made a mistake, so the first time we just sailed past the statue))) There was such a theatrical scene from my friend and me, we were so actively saying everything we thought about Luis... apparently, the ship's crew didn't want to see corpses on board and offered us a free trip the next day, since that was the last cruise for the day.
After a week in New York, we set off with some Chinese travelers (ugh, I got so tired of their Chinese language ^_^) on the route: New York - Niagara Falls – Washington – Philadelphia – New York. We traveled for three days by bus, stopping at beautiful places along the way.
Guys, Niagara Falls is a fairy tale) Especially when you sail towards it, and you get swept away by the flow of water, and everyone is screaming, squealing, showing emotions, and you are laughing and thinking, 'God, this is the best thing I've ever seen.' I am a veeeery emotional person.
A view from the middle between the territory of Canada and the USA. I couldn't get a visa to Canada, I didn't have the right anymore=( And the view is more beautiful there, but I was impressed for a lifetime by this too, I want more!!!
Washington D.C. – we all know it's the capital of America. A historic city and, let's say, the official face of the USA. And not visiting it, I think, is not allowed! The Capitol, the White House, the Pentagon – familiar things, and they are worth seeing in person.
*** The Chinese, being nauseatingly punctual, got tired of waiting for the forever-late Russian and Kazakh girls and decided to just leave right in front of our not-so-fast butts at the souvenir shop! Hmm, we said, turning around... except for one girl from Kazakhstan, she started calling the guide in a panic, who simply didn't answer. After 30 minutes, we got through to him and were grateful that they had left. We got a chance to explore the city on our own, and we walked for almost 2 hours, walking from point A, where they left us, to point B, where they were waiting for us in 2 hours. We were so happy and laughed a looot about such a ridiculous situation, the bus left without the tourists! And indeed, everything happens for the best. (But we didn't run late anymore) ***
*** In Philadelphia, we were only there for an hour because we were running very late and wouldn't make it to New York in time. So I can't say anything. Philadelphia is a big city, with skyscrapers like New York, only there are no people there)) that's it)) ***
And so we returned to New York on September 19th, and on the afternoon of September 20th, we were supposed to fly to Russia. And you know, it's such a feeling... that everything is over. This is CAMP SYNDROME. You kind of feel like you'll come back here, but it won't be the same, and the people won't be the same, etc. So we, two traveling frogs, returned to Russia. For the first 2 weeks, I felt bad, I didn't understand what was happening, I waaanted to go back so much, and the houses were small, and there was no sun, and few smiling people. But studies and friends brought me back to reality. Today is January 31st, half a year has passed, and it feels like I dreamed it, it was suuuper, don't miss your chance, don't be afraid of anything, and believe that this will be one of the best summer periods of your life =) *** See photos in the attached files ***
