The next item on the program was a three-day Las Vegas-Grand Canyon tour, which turned out to be a Chinese one (now I understand there's nothing surprising about that, but back then it was a Surprise!), meaning the tour guide and everyone except us and a couple of other people were Chinese. While we were on the bus, a sweet girl with hard-to-understand English made announcements into the microphone and told us things along the way. But she did it in a very interesting way: she managed to condense a 15-minute speech in Chinese into 2-3 minutes in English...
Las Vegas greeted us with insane heat. I had never felt like such a shrimp in a pot (that's the influence of seafood, don't pay attention) before. It was hard to constantly convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius and back, but the temperature was clearly over 42-43 degrees. Surprisingly, such heat was easy to tolerate. At least for me, a die-hard person who is always cold. :)
We only managed to walk around the city more or less on one of the evenings. And here is what I will say: Vegas... it doesn't sleep at all. However, it is much more beautiful at night, in the evening, when it gets dark, with lights, signs, and people all around. There is a prototype of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the fountain show at the Bellagio hotel, and even Disney characters and castles. Sweet lovers will find many edible souvenirs at the Hershey's store. The view from the 26th floor of our hotel is worth a lot, and the territory of the Circus Circus Hotel itself is amazing. It would seem that this is just one of the city's hotels, but it is a whole town where there is everything: from the largest casino, cafes, billiards, a pool, and luxurious rooms to a small church. The atmosphere of this city cannot be conveyed in words; you need to dive into it, headfirst.
But then we went to the Grand Canyon. Compared to Vegas, it's a bright contrast. There, it's illumination, you can see that people have done and created so much, but here Nature itself created it, and did it in its own charming way. We visited all the points of the canyon, had lunch in the fresh air, continuing to admire the mountain ranges. And then we even took pictures on horses.
The highlight of the program was our trip back to Los Angeles. We were taken to a chocolate factory, which had an M&M's store. I left a veeery large amount of money there... The temptation was just too strong.
