Two things:
-
I hope you won't have to deal with this.
-
This post might not be for the faint of heart.
Let's continue.
July 26th.
While chopping cilantro, I managed to cut off a small piece of my finger. Yes, along with a corner of the nail. At that moment, of course, it felt like I had cut off half my finger, but looking ahead, I'll note that it wasn't as bad as I, a paranoid person, thought. Although, of course, I was in shock, almost fainted, etc. One of the managers bandaged me up and everything seemed fine, but they said it was mandatory to report it, so we were going to the hospital. In West Glacier, there was a small clinic, smaller than my apartment, where I expected to see some kind of village infirmary and a paramedic-type doctor. HA. Where did you come to, boy? A hospital with all modern technologies, a sensible doctor who looked eerily like Paul McCartney. Well, everything as it should be. Treatment, dressing, ointment, and all that. And also insurance, which will be provided by my work, since it was a workplace injury. That's how it actually looked.
And then, every day they took me to the doctor to change the dressing and examine the wound. Eventually, after a few days, he just gave me ointment and a special bandage so I could treat the finger myself. Now the finger is back to normal, only if you look closely can you see the difference. Thanks to pseudo-Paul McCartney for his care. And, of course, a photo for memory.
P.S. In general, working as a cook for 4 months led to the fact that I can easily give lectures on the stages of skin healing after burns/cuts. I had plenty of that. Especially burns.
