If only someone had warned me that finding a job on my own isn't that easy – I wouldn't have spent hours in front of the computer sending out my resumes hoping for at least some response, but would have trusted this to IEC.Exchange!
I sent my CVs and Cover Letters to more than 80 employers (EIGHTY, imagine how much time that took, about two months) and only ONE replied!
Listen to what happened next!
An employer named David Weinberg, a smiling 42-year-old man, offered me a job on his yacht as some kind of assistant: dusting, chopping salads! Sounds great! And the best part – where it was: in the southernmost point of the USA, Key West! Photos of this island look like landscapes from a Bounty commercial!
David asked me to write why I was the best candidate for this job and to send a few photos! After that, he scheduled a Skype interview! Guys, it lasted 40 minutes! He asked me about everything: what my hobbies are, how Putin is doing, how much bread costs in Russia, and if I have a boyfriend (just, you know, in passing)...
To decide that I was his dream employee, he needed two more 40-minute interviews and 2 weeks of thinking, but I still got the coveted job! Yay!
I was incredibly pleased with myself that I managed to find a job offer for free, and I sent it to the sponsor for confirmation! And, fortunately, it was... NOT APPROVED!
When I broke this unpleasant news to David, he said: "Tanya, what a pity! But I really want to see you, come to Key West as a tourist, I will pay for all your expenses! I liked you so much, you are so charming! I dreamed today that you were my girlfriend, I was so happy about it! And don't you feel anything like that for me?"
What kind of joke is this? That's why he was choosing so long and carefully! He was looking for either a mistress, or an object for harassment, or someone else... Now, I think it's clear to everyone why it's GOOD that the sponsor didn't approve my offer? InterExchange, thank you so much! Otherwise, this old fool would have ruined my summer even in the most heavenly place! Ugh, it's disgusting to even imagine!
I found a new job offer in two days on the website www.jobofer.ru, and it was approved the very next day! I highly recommend this site! Reliable guys, you can fully trust them with your money, no one will cheat you!
Be careful with job offer sellers on VK, do not agree to full prepayment, because:
-
they do not give you any guarantee of a refund if the job offer is not approved by the sponsor;
-
it is not a fact that your workplace will not already be occupied by someone else when you arrive in the USA! Usually, offers are sold to a large number of people with the expectation that not everyone will get a visa! As a result, the job goes to those who just arrived in America earlier than the others!
Of course, this doesn't always happen, just be cautious!
Oh yes! Don't strive for big cities like Los Angeles, Miami, New York! For some reason, the sponsor is reluctant to approve job offers in big cities! Probably because there is already plenty of cheap labor there, like Mexicans, and students are not particularly needed there!
