Fate brought me day after day to such different, good people with open hearts, among whom were American families. And I was invited to visit twice. The first time was just to spend time and see a glimpse of the ordinary life of a young American woman who rents a house and is raising a daughter. It was the most ordinary house and the most ordinary evening. But we were rewatching the well-known movie "Titanic," and it was great to notice that a 6-year-old girl knew half the movie by heart. It was an example of suburban life in a small house with a dog.
The second time was completely different. It was already at the end of the summer, when it was time to sum up and head home. A wonderful woman invited us, students from different countries, to her home. Two American families and students from Turkey, Poland, and Russia gathered at the table.
It was a real family dinner with the familiar red cups and traditional treats prepared by the hostess. Everyone was very happy to see me, a girl who had come from a Russia so distant to them. For them, my city is like "Interstate 60," which doesn't exist in nature. It's hard to explain to them so they can even slightly imagine where it is. Both families had children.
Such typical American children in their interesting families. As for the interior of the house, there were warm photographs hung everywhere, creating comfort and a "family" atmosphere. And these were photographs depicting children and parents at different periods of life. These were real photographs where you could clearly see what the children were like at birth, how they grew, changed, and what they became. And that's great! The house was bright and beautiful. Everything was filled with paintings, memorable souvenirs, and finally, books. Hundreds of books by various authors. As if people were creating their own unique library.
Americans are very polite and sociable. In general, that's how it is. They are friendly and love to chat, especially if you have come from another country. They have many questions about your country and about how you like it here, and the conversation ends, of course, with wishes for a good rest/travel or a safe journey. They are always ready to help and give advice.
And now, I can say with confidence that political disagreements between states cannot in any way affect the relationships between people.
