Despite all this abundance of color, there are many problems in the USA that are not publicized in the media. One of the main ones is the huge number of homeless people. Visiting the West Coast, we became even more convinced of this. For example, in Los Angeles, on the Walk of Fame, it is better not to appear after ten o'clock in the evening. It would seem that a world-famous street is home to quite sad inhabitants. When I asked the locals about the street problem I saw, I received a counter-question: "Doesn't this happen in Moscow?" They think that this happens everywhere, that other countries do not hide it.
There is another problem that is clearly visible on the West Coast. Although the authorities decided to get rid of it by making it not a problem, but an opportunity, the consequences are still visible. No matter how much we empathize with the internal problems of this country, alas, we cannot help. I am not discouraging anyone from visiting the USA, on the contrary! I want those who are interested to see everything that is happening with their own eyes. Of course, one week will not be enough to understand and soak up everything that is happening. Therefore, I am immensely glad about the existing Work and Travel program, thanks to which students can live like US citizens, feel the whole culture and see everything with their own eyes. This is an incredible experience that each of us received, and now, meeting winter in Russia and scrolling through the photos taken or chatting with friends newly found during the incredible journey, it becomes so warm and joyful in the soul!
