It is surprising that our acquaintance began with the biggest loss during our entire stay in the USA. We didn't get into a yellow taxi. Never, I insist, I beg, I implore you, do not repeat our mistakes, unless you want to take a ride from the airport for 10,000 rubles. To say we were in shock is an understatement. However, it soon became clear that such a "trifle" could no longer spoil our mood.
We arrived in New York late at night, so we started exploring the city the next day, during which we managed to see almost all the most famous landmarks of the city: the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Central Park, and Times Square. Can I tell you something unusual about my impressions of this city? I'm not sure. For me, it was very similar to Moscow, with the same crowds of people, kilometer-long traffic jams, and a bunch of strange smells and sounds. In Times Square, I was struck by how many people with different ideas, views on life, and different goals can fit into such a relatively small space. There were street dancers, young rappers shoving their CDs at anyone, political activists speaking out against another idea of Donald Trump, followers of various religious denominations calling on everyone to live in peace and harmony, but only under the name of their God. Well, think about it, how is it not like Moscow?
However, among all this, there is something in New York that makes it exactly New York – this is undoubtedly Central Park. A quiet, peaceful place, entering the gates of which you forget about the hustle and bustle of the day, about all the problems, about everything that distracts from the true beauty of the world. Squirrels run here, you can hear birds singing, and if you stop and close your eyes, you can hear the true breath of New York, passing from tree to tree, steady, calm, soothing.
