A friend suggested we talk about our future. I spent half an hour rambling about lasers, chips, and force fields. I don't think I quite understood his question...

Alright, in all seriousness, 2039 will be here before we know it, and we won't even have time to blink. My grandmother once told me that in her youth, time crawled; now it walks, and soon it will fly. This is due to the massive flow of information that piles up on us more and more every year. Right now, we are an information society. In 2039, we will become a hyper-information society. If, until recently, people went to libraries and studied books for knowledge and data, and now everything can just be Googled, then in 2039, I think people will have microchips installed in their heads to download any information. It will be much more convenient, don't you agree? Let me say right now: there will be no wars in 2039! Globalization will reach such a level that political disputes and disagreements will vanish; society will become absolutely tolerant and rational. The gap between developed countries and third-world countries will evaporate. Society will reach such a level of awareness that it will realize that energy, money, and resources should not be spent on killing, but on trying to make the world kind and perfect. Lasers, nuclear fission, and chemical developments will not be sophisticated weapons, but a way to simplify human life...

A whale swims around a female and says reproachfully: — So many countries, hundreds of environmental organizations, prominent political leaders, millions of people — they are all fighting for our species to survive, and you tell me you have a headache...

As for ecology, this issue is already being brought to a head: “What to do about the greenhouse effect, which is melting glaciers and causing sunlight to burn all living things? What to do with tons of toxic, unrecycled waste that occupies hundreds of thousands of landfills and poisons the soil? How, in the end, to save the endangered species of the cutest pandas and other wonderful animals?” I declare: in 2039, humans will use only renewable energy sources, such as sunlight, wind, and water. All houses will be equipped with vacuum waste chutes, like in Finland. And humans themselves will want to take care of preserving ecosystems, so not a single piece of paper will ever fall from their hands onto the ground again...

Scientists have finally concluded that the lack of contact with Earth from Space confirms the existence of intelligent civilizations in it.

In general, this is also a joke; in fact, I don't consider people to be unreasonable creatures. On the contrary, they are so reasonable that they are not limited to exploring just our lovely little planet — they look further, looking for ways to master extraterrestrial space as well. What is out there? Is there life or conditions partially suitable for life? How is everything arranged? People crave the truth — perhaps harsh, but wildly interesting and exciting. In 2039, space travel will be a common thing, an exotic type of travel. 3 main bases for space travel will be built: to the Moon, to Mars, and to Ganymede. The International Exchange Center will help people travel not only to all countries on Earth but also in space. It will offer a tour to Ganymede — a moon of Jupiter, which has an ocean (real water), clay sedimentary rocks, and a multitude of microorganisms. Yes, in 2039, the International Exchange Center will have built a well-established, technological, and absolutely safe life support system for humans even in a place where the temperature is -150 °C. Now, through the Work and Travel USA program, students will be able to fly to work on Ganymede, conduct research, and work in the entertainment and catering sector for tourists...

And what will you be doing in 2039? — you might ask. Investing in the International Exchange Center, of course! — I will answer. After all, a trip to America in 2019 will allow me to perfect my English, instill qualities such as self-reliance, determination, and independence, and give me a start in building a successful business. In 2039, I will be a billionaire philanthropist who helps the International Exchange Center (since it once helped me) make other people happier...
