"This year, America is finally introducing a visa-free regime for the Russian Federation. Political analysts are throwing up their hands and spouting demagoguery, while travel agencies are struggling with the shock of a huge influx of tourists dreaming of getting to the United States"...

The news anchor's voice on screen was devoid of all emotion – for her, it's just another boom-news story that needs to be told, just her job. Yes, it's the year '39, and we are still just as dependent on the box. Ha. Some things will remain unchanged forever.

News. This hasn't been new for a long time. At least, not for me. The guys from IEC wrote about this in their app three days ago. No problems with visas and passports – even if now it's just a chip in your finger. Fewer problems – more time to practice the language.

I can't imagine how people learned foreign languages before – all those tips like "listen to songs and watch movies in the original" seem so dubious. Now everything is much simpler and far more interesting, thanks to learn-rooms. A room where you are one-on-one with a hologram of Freddie Mercury, and you can ask him any question. Or the Queen of England, or Angelina Jolie – anyone at all. You have to admit, it's quite motivating!

True, they are hard to find; not many people want to bother with setting up such rooms. But I got lucky, the IEC office has one! But what is IEC, you ask? Iii, seriously? You don't know one of the leading agencies for working with international programs? Well, my dears, IEC is the executor of your most desired dreams. For over 50 years, the agency has been helping people travel all over the world. Once upon a time, my mom flew to the USA through them, and back then in St. Petersburg, IEC had a small office and a huge number of applicants. Now the agency is located in a trendy business center on Nevsky Prospect, occupies two floors, and they still have just as many applicants.

I am a participant in the 2039 program. Of course, now you can travel without leaving your home; it's enough to buy a VR headset and load any country you like into it. This newfangled gadget transmits everything – smells, sounds, temperature, even touch. God, some people have even stopped going outside because of them. But I'm not one of those who is comfortable living in a VR world. I like to feel the whole atmosphere for myself.

Of course, this will cost significantly more than a headset. Airplanes, where you can sit – WOW – have practically disappeared as a mode of transport, and a ticket for a teleporter will only pay off if I sell a kidney, which is not an option right away because I don't have connections on the black market. Just kidding, of course. I am a law-abiding citizen. So I'll have to fly by jet – just 3 hours standing – and voila: America, hello.

I have almost nothing left – just pay the final stage. Tomorrow IEC will send their courier with a chip reader. Yes, yes, we also pay via chip. You know what, at least I've never lost money – ha. And I don't need to exchange currency because the reader handles that perfectly well on its own.

And I found a vacancy that's just right. A model for a glog-bracelet. Isn't it great – you press the bracelet, and a small copy of me tells you how it's super-duper-better-than-anything-seriously-stop-at-ours. Alina, my advisor from IEC, who is assigned to 10 other guys, said that the vacancy is rare, and getting it is the chance of a lifetime. So I'm the lucky one here!
