SUITCASE
And here we are in Boston. You'd think our emotions would be off the charts, but after a 23-hour flight, our thoughts were: (Wait, what? Is this America? Did we travel all this way for this?
Nothing special, just the same as in Kazakhstan
)
But a hearty “American Breakfast”
changed our minds, and we looked at the world through completely different eyes.
After reaching our peninsula, Cape Cod, we headed straight to our accommodation.
The house looked like a toy, just like most houses in America, I guess. Finding the keys under the mat, we entered. It was quite cute and cozy, but as soon as we crossed the threshold, we heard a dog barking.
What? A dog? The landlady didn't mention any animals. What should we do? Go in or stand here? Maybe we should wait for the landlady? All these thoughts raced through my head at once.
But we couldn't stand and wait for her in the pouring rain, so we had to go in. Fortunately, the dog was locked in a room, and we successfully managed to get into ours.
What pleased me most was the note left on the bed:
”WELCOME TO MY HOME”
Later, we met our neighbors from Turkey and Bulgaria. It turned out that besides the dog, there were two ducks in the house that successfully woke us up in the mornings.
Ms Vivi (a very cute and playful dog, until she eats)
Anyway, one day we came home from work, bought groceries, and thought we'd eat slowly, as they say: “et etke, sorpa betke”
(literal translation: "Meat to meat, broth to the face"
*Actually: (Meat fills the body, broth makes the cheeks rosy)
Everything was going according to plan until my nose was pierced by an unpleasant smell, or rather, a FART!
Let's call a spade a spade
The trail was simply lethal
I immediately cast a glance at the only suspect in the room - Azamat!
I was sure of myself, and he had a history of such sins
He was unflappable, devouring pasta with chicken.
Unable to stand it, I blurted out: "Can you stop?!"
He: "What are you talking about?"
I: "You understood me
. I'm talking about the smell."
He: "It wasn't me!!!"
I: "Then WHO???"
We didn't have to wait long before a juicy fart went off under the chair.
VIVI!!! Oh my god

In short, we didn't get to eat in peace

Note
-
Before choosing accommodation, find out if there are any animals in the house. For example, we didn't know about the ducks and the dog, but thank God none of us had allergies.
-
Find out what is included in the rent; for us, laundry cost $10, but we did it at a local laundromat for $3.
-
Be sure to draw up a contract or get a written receipt from your landlord regarding the housing conditions.
